Hey I have a 2012 street bob and i'm puttin 19" apes on it and i need to know the best way to go about my wire extension kit? I was told by soddering the wires together it will put out less ohms and mess with your ECM and BCM on newer bikes.

 

If anything it will increase the resistance (ohms). When done correctly soldering will give the least increase, while butt connectors are a bit higher.

IMO, soldering the connections is always preferable to prefab extensions or any connectors.

 

i got the wire extension kit just to keep the color code correct. soldered and shrink tube the splice. easy and clean.
