I've 16" on fxstb 09

I'm tall 1.86 cm and I could arrive on 18 ape too but I don't like it... it's too long

I've been hanging around in the shadows for a while and been doing a bit of research on apes. I'm just about to pull the trigger and order a set of 18" narrow apes from HCC with 2" risers. I have a 98 FXD with a wide glide front end on it. Seems to be about the best deal around considering what all you get in the package.

I do have one question though, has anyone here put 18" on and decided they were too tall? I'm 6'3", and have sat on a couple of bikes with 16" and they were ok. Also any pearls of wisdom for a noobie on this?

Just hold a broom stick out at your desired height. Have a buddy measure the distance and subtract your desired riser size. I'm just 5'6" and ride with 16" on one inch risers. Perfect for me.

16" HCC Narrow on 2" stock risers. Can't beat this deal anywhere as far as I know. I paid about $350 and installed them myself in about 6 hours. You will need to drain your tranny fluid and replace the gasket as well as new front brake fluid. I am 6'1" and these are very comfortable.

Default Apes

I just bought and installed a set 0f 14 inch apes from Hill Country Customs. They came with all of the correct length cables and had prewired chrome hand controls and levers. I was very pleased with everything. They were basically plug and play. I do know you can get black on most of their parts too. Good luck!!!

Thumbs down

prouddawg,

Got any shots of your apes from the front view? I'm looking for some apes that are not too wide at the base. To me the Wild Ones come out too far at the base. Had my eye on HCC but can't find any shots to check
