Ape Hangers a Few Questions
#13
I've been hanging around in the shadows for a while and been doing a bit of research on apes. I'm just about to pull the trigger and order a set of 18" narrow apes from HCC with 2" risers. I have a 98 FXD with a wide glide front end on it. Seems to be about the best deal around considering what all you get in the package.
I do have one question though, has anyone here put 18" on and decided they were too tall? I'm 6'3", and have sat on a couple of bikes with 16" and they were ok. Also any pearls of wisdom for a noobie on this?

16" HCC Narrow on 2" stock risers. Can't beat this deal anywhere as far as I know. I paid about $350 and installed them myself in about 6 hours. You will need to drain your tranny fluid and replace the gasket as well as new front brake fluid. I am 6'1" and these are very comfortable.

Apes
I just bought and installed a set 0f 14 inch apes from Hill Country Customs. They came with all of the correct length cables and had prewired chrome hand controls and levers. I was very pleased with everything. They were basically plug and play. I do know you can get black on most of their parts too. Good luck!!!
