Wow, I took mine off last night and was looking at doing the same thing, I thought it would look good and it does.

My cover is still on my coffee table.

why not just order the appropriate OEM trim ring from the dealer and use it with the chrome cover that comes with the aftermarket air cleaner?

 

I used the new smooth air cleaner cover # 29153-07 $39.00 plus the # 29417-04 $38.00 Air cleaner Insert, They work well together and pretty much rain proof .. Are you loveing the Reinharts ?

Exactlly,,, but I used the smooth chrome cover behind it to cover the filter... Also the stock headlight ring also looks cool on the end of the filter first then the way you have it. It gives the filter edge a smooth chrome look and the center cover matches right up.

The Rinharts are great. Never understood the point of loud pipes, then I got them.

I have a pair that i put on, Santa brought me a pair of the Vance & Hines BBS's, there on now, but I'm going back to the Reinharts.. Best sounding Pipe I've heard and I dont like the way the rear pipe covers up the Oil filler and side trans cover. The stock rear header has a better direction, kinda fills up a empty hole
