Default Fat Bob on life support

It was a beautiful day today and I had to screw it up by not paying attention. I was doing about 60mph and my attention drifted for just a minute while going around a curve. I got off the road and the bike and I went flying. Quite a bit of damage to the bike: saddlebag tore off, bars trashed, levers gone, turn signals trashed, headlight mount jacked up, engine guard bolt torn through mount, tank dented in two places, front fender trashed, ect. I just want to caution all riders about taking time off the bike. I was off of the bike for about a month for some training. I didn't really take the time to get back in the groove before I started riding like I used to. If you go awhile between rides make sure you take it easy at first. Also a word about helmets. My 3/4 with face shield is the only reason I'm alive to type this. My head ground on the pavement and the only damage is some skin off my nose. A helmet is a personal choice but for me it's the only choice.

Sorry to hear about the bike. Glad you made it though. They make new bikes everyday.

You were extremely fortunate to have come out with just a skinned up nose. As others have said, the bike can be repaired. Good advice though.

Glad to hear you made it out of it with just a scrape and you're gonna live to ride another day. +1 on wearing a helmet. I'm actually glad NY has a helmet law because if we didn't, I probably would end up not wearing one. Good luck on repairing/replacing the FB.

Sorry to hear this man but glad you survived it without serious injury. Hope they total the bike and you can grab a new one. I hate owning something after it's been wrecked. Good luck.
