My head is still spinning from this thread!

Basically because of the derby cover fitment mix-up, you've gone from trading in the Super Glide for a Fat Boy Lo, and now you're back on the Super Glide. What a roller coaster ride!

Anyhow, good luck with the bike. The satin chrome looks pretty cool!

Enjoy the ride. It is free!

I like the Black Denim and Satin Chrome.

I am planning on changing the Super Glide tank out to the Street Bob tank, speedo, dash, apes, cables, engine covers, wide tire kit, headlight, passenger pillion, passenger pegs, ect ect ect. I might as well buy the 2011 Fat Boy Lo here at the local dealer. Change the intake and exhaust and and be done with it.

Here is the scoop! I called the stupid girl back at the dealer and reamed her a new ***. She liked it so much she wants me to call back again next week for more.

The reason why the primary cover from the Fat Boy Lo primary does not not fit the Super Glide is because the SG comes stock with mid controls. As for you jshull and myself with the forward controls installed it does work for us.

The stupid girl was correct to my answer if going by what it says in the big book.

There was an article in American Iron magazine a few months ago where this same thing was done. Yes you are correct, the only difference is the shifter hole for the mid controls.

below, fine wet/dry sandpaper, diamond pads, water squirt bottle, a fine file for flats,
the castings are somewhat rough under the powdercoating.
And I like this X-treem polish for the final touch.

Polishing all this aluminum is a pretty big job.

Very impressive! Thanks for the information and pictures. But, I think I will buy the 3 covers. I do not have the talent, tools, material, time, and patience for the work that is involved in the end results of that engine.

I thought about sanding down the chrome and them having them polished to see what I get. Damn primary cover!
Very Interesting! Hmmmmmmm

Am I wrong in thinking the "satin chrome" parts from the Fat Boy Lo is actually unpolished aluminum?

Wow. Really?

This is really that serious that you had to call and ream her out, after you had to look for the answer yourself on an internet forum?

Ever consider that perhaps she doesn't have the time, or interest to spend hours on the internet researching every part swap combo so that she can spend her time at work fielding calls from every Joe with a pipe dream asking if part XYZ from bike A will fit bike B, only for them to go buy it on ebay?

I hope that you were joking, but if not, my comment stands: really?
