Any one used Kurey Silver Bullets w/ Harley Fork Mounts?
Ok... SO I bought Kuryakyn silver bullets and have run into a bit of a sticky situation....
Ok...
1) the hollow bolts that come with the silver bullets will BARELY allow the wires to pass through them - I mean they are tight. That I can deal with and is minor.
2) The bolts that come with the bullets are supposed to be 3/8" but will not fit through the mounting holes on the Harley fork mount brackets - even though according to the instruction sheet that comes with the Harley fork Mounts says the Harley Bolts are 5/8". I know I am not crazy and 5 is still more than
3) And The instruction sheet says that with the rear mounting you need to put in the load equalizer - it also says one equalizer is needed for EACH pair of silver bullets. WHERE in holy h - e - double hockey sticks is the equalizer supposed to go?
The only thing I can think of to do is ream out the Harley fork mounts - because smaller bolts simply wouldn't accommodate the Kuryakyn wires. Only problem is I don't have a drill press and I really don't want to screw it up and just have to buy something else anyway.
I thought I had figured the right stuff to buy but is this simply a case of I HAVE to have the Kuryakyn fork mounts?
Just looking for ideas guys.
Thanks in advance,
