Default Exhaust Pipes - Melted Glove Stain

Well I finally installed my new D&D Fat Cat exhaust pipes today. After I installed them i had on a pair of mechanics gloves and was tightening some bolts and the gloves melted on the pipes. Any suggestions on how to clean them? I heard Blue Job works well.

Wait til is at least fairly cool, and use GOOF OFF graffiti remover...it worked for melted boots. THIS WAS ON CHROME PIPES. I DON'T KNOW ABOUT BLACK PIPES!

I haven't tried it but I have seen other posts on this and Easy Off Oven cleaner seems to be pretty popular. Not sure about black pipes though. Do a search on this and you should be able to find the different threads on this.....

I removed melted microfiber cloth (which is not really cloth at all, but a polyester, nylon, polyamide blend) from my chrome pipes using Easy-Off in the yellow can (blue can won't do it). As in your case, no solvent would touch it. I tried them all.

To remove with Easy-Off, the pipe needs to be hot. Protect the rest of bike by taping up some newspaper behind the pipe (Easy-Off WILL stain your paint). Spray Easy-Off on while pipe is hot. Apply a couple of applications while the pipe is still hot. Let it sit for a half hour, then, while the pipe is still warm/hot, wipe off aggressively with a moist COTTON rag. It may take a few applications to get it off, but it will come off.

I would not use steel wool on Chrome, even if it is 0000.Try the easy off oven cleaner first. You don't want to use anything that could scratch the pipes.

I have used # 0000 on chrome and glass for 30 + years ..it always does the job.
You could use a little wd40 with it as well........
I just put new pipes on 3 days ago and used this method just clean em up after the install..
