Remove Hypercharger
My recently aquired 02 FXDL has a hypercharger.
Doesn't work with the look I'm going for on my bike.
Want to replace it with an air cleaner- am seriously considering an Arlen Ness Big SuckerII. Anyone have any experience with this?
Will the switch be relatively plug-and-play?

havent heard much good things about either, I just have a performance machine with a Keihin air cleaner, works fine, I have heard that the big sucker and the hyper charge supply to much air and the engine cant use it efficiently, thats rumor from some bike shops but thats what i have heard so take it for what its worth,

The motorcycle is yours, do whatever you want to it. You have to be happy with the way it looks.
The change of air cleaners and covers is relatively simple, even I can do it.
I removed the stock air cover and replaced it with an S&S cover with a K&N 3" air filter.

Just get the Big Sucker and not the big sucker II. Should save ya some coin as well. Not sure what tools you'll need to remove your hyper charger, but you will need allen wrenches to install the big sucker. Fairly simple. It will come with the back plate, bolts and a filter. You will have to buy a seperate cover for the filter unless you find a full kit with it. The filter bolts to the back plate so you don't have to get the cover right away.
Edit to my post: I seen a picture of a big sucker that the bolts for the back plate had a regular bolt head on them. Mine are allen, but I think there maybe some bolts to attach the filter to that you will need a wrench for also. Think the bolt head looked better than the allen heads.
