Default Smaller fatter front wheel

I posted on here a while ago about this and found someone who'd done it, but I'm wondering if else has had a go at putting a wider 17" front rim on a 2006> Dyna with a fatter front tire without changing the triple trees.

I'm still planning on doing this on my FXDB when cashflow permits, probably with a second hand Dyna rear rim laced to the standard hub and an adapted Fat Bob front fender. The other option might be a Vrod front fender but I've not seen anyone put one of those on a Dyna yet.

Anybody help? Links or pictures or advice appreciated.

Thanks for the offer, your bike looks great that way, what did you change it to? I love the way that fender really hugs the tire.

I'm kind of committed to the 17" now though as I want same diameter rims front and rear, probably with a Fat Boy 140/70 front tire (if it'll fit between the sliders. Once that's done I'll get the fender modded to fit. Do you know if anyone's done this, or used a Vrod fender on a dyna?

the v rod fender will wrap a 120 not a 140 same with the lid for a fat bob that is why i used a fat bob lid and made new brackets to support it... for a 140 you will have to buy a custom fender (just got a fiberglass one for a customer was $255 shipped (not painted or primed)

no, those are 2 different statement, I've got a friend who has a 140 tire on a 16" rim, and I've got a Vrod fender, both are possible, donno if they are possible together
