Default Lowering kit for my 08 Dyna Lowrider

I just bought a 2008 Dyna Lowrider and I'm looking to lower it. I am considering getting a lowering kit. Does anyone have any knowledge on lowering kits? Are they any good?

my advice, dont buy a kit. get your shocks lowered. a kit will move your shock into a different position, or angle, than it was intended. either getting a shorter shock, Progressive Suspension makes all sizes, or send your shocks to:

www.skullmanonline.com/shock-shortening.html

there are other companies as well. do a search. this is a bit more expensive, with shipping your shocks to them, and down time off of your scoot sucks, but you will not disturb the great handling of your dyna this way.

hope this helps,
corb

That is not an option for me. I ride almost every day so I couldn't handle being without my bike for that long. The Shovelhead isn't running right now so I don't have a back up bike. I've been looking at some Burly Slammer 10.5" shocks. Does anyone know anything about them?

i just installed my burly 10.5's in the back and they look awesome. Went for a quick ride to test em and they are a little stiffer than stock but not alot. handle great, havent installed the front fork kit yet not sure f im going to , i like the look how it is + 1 on the slammer kit from burly(progressive actually owns burly)

Installed rear Burly Slammers only, here are some before and after pics. You can see the difference by looking at the rear of the rear fender height.

Why would you want to lower a lowrider. I have an 03 and I bottom out on speed bumps if I don't crawl over them and the pan hits first on a dyna.
