Took me a while to find the right apt with a garage unit, but it was worth it. If your complex doesn't have garages and moving isn't an option, then I know a few guys that use Public Storage units.

Pretty much what the above guys have said, if your complex has garages, consider renting one near your unit. If not, and if it's not your sole piece of transportation, then I'd get a storage unit, 5x5 or some small deal to put it in, heck even a 5x10 and you could keep some tools in there, oil changes, mods, all kinds of crap that the apartment complex would get uptight about. Last option would be if you got a bud that has extra room in his garage.

You didnt say how much jinngle you want to spend. I keep my bike in an enclosed trailer (with a ramp door not a cargo door) year around. Locked of course!

Now that's a good idea. Serves double duty. If you need to trailer it you have that too. When I lived in an apartment after getting out of the Air Force, I pulled my bike in the living room. I guess I just didn't really care and I lived on the first floor.

Instead of buying a new bike you should buy a house. Bikes are great, but a house in my mind should be much higher on the priority list.

Mine is sitting uncovered in the carport under the apartment. Its seen fire and its seen rain. It dont complain about the weather.

I'm on high ground so I dont worry about flooding. Im far enough in the flatlands so I dont worry about mudslides.

Now if it decides to rain for 40 days and 40 nights, I'll ride the m-effer up the stairs.

Mine stays in the parking lot with a cover( Walmart) during the riding months and in a small storage in my back yard hooked up to a battery tender during the rainy season.

I would be renting a storage unit for sure. No way to keep one looking new with it sitting outside in the elements under a cover. When it rains that cover will only make it worse on the bike with condensation and all. Bolts will start to rust and your bike will go down hill. I've seen it too many times.
