So I got a tach kit from ebay,its Harley kit #67224-04,its for a 2004/2005 FXD.The seller said it will fit my '97 FXD with some wiring improv.The kit I need is a 67224-95C,which only has 3 wires from the tach that get spliced into the speedo/main harness.The tach I have has a 5 wire connector that goes to the main harness.Is anybody familiar with these kits and could tell me for sure which 3 out of the 5 wires I need to use.The wire color codes are different as well.The seller said he would do a refund,but if I can use this one,I would rather,since the price was so good.Thanks in advance for any help.

 

The 04-05 tachometer runs on a data Buss(that means each wire caries more than 1 signal !)In short it will not work on your bike, its made to work with a computer.Send it back.
