Is a 5' 10" 185 lbs male too tall for Super Glide?
I test rode a 2011 Dyna Super Glide Custom the other day; I felt cramped on it (I come from a ST1300A which I sold last July). I also didn't like the rear braking (again coming from the ST ABS linked-braking) but the bike just had 5 miles on it and this could be a break-in / adjustment issue.
Should I give it another chance? I only rode about 10 minutes; I can take another longer test ride if you guys think it would be worth it. The second test ride was the RKC - it felt much better but at 6K more it may be more than I can budget. Can you guys offer an opinion - is the SuperGlide something that I'll get used to? I plan on short / 1 hr rides with an occasional 4 hr road trip. Thanks in advance.

Only you can truly answer whether or not the FXDC is the right bike for you.
If you still are not sure about it, test ride a second time. It will not hurt you trying it again.
But, I think it is a bad idea to settle for something that you may not enjoy. If a new RKC is too rich for your blood, you can always go for a used one at a cheaper price.
There are deals out there and some of these used bikes have little miles on them. I am always quite surprised on how little miles are on some of these used bikes on the market.
Good luck!!

I'm 6'-1" with a 34" inseam and ride an FXD with no problem. The stock mid-controls are adjustable, so you can get the brake pedal and shifter just right for you.
I did put on forward controls (about $300) so that I could stretch my legs out a bit, and again adjusted the controls to fit me. The mid-controls did fit me, but I was more concerned with getting leg cramps and wanted to stretch my legs out so that I could better deal with it if it happened.
No matter what your concerns might be, you can always find a cure. You don't have to buy a bike that fits you out-of-the-box, that's not what Harley's are about....You make it your own.
Good luck with your Harley purchase. I've owned dozens of bikes and my Dyna is by far my favorite.

I'm 6'4", 220lb, with bad knees. I've been perfectly comfortable on my Super Glide for four years.
I changed the handlebars to flat-track Sportster bars, and put highway pegs on it... but I kept the mids for those times I'm feeling sporty. It's like having two bikes in one.
