Default Rear turn signal. Bulb lights up but does not flash

Just like the title says. I have a 2006 Street bob that I purchased from an insurance auction. The bike was laid down on the air cleaner side of the bike and the rear turn signal was smashed. I got the bike running using the handy search feature on the website, but I was unable to find anything to help me with this issue.

I bought a new turn signal from Harley and wired it up. When I turn the bike on both signals light up. However when I turn the turn signal on; the front one blinks while the rear one just stays lit. The other side works normaly. So I swapped the turn signals to see if I have a faulty one and the new on works when wired to the other side and the air cleaner side still wont flash. I have checked my wiring over and over.

Any ideas?

Still sounds like a bad connection. Can you check the where the connector is with a voltmeter? You should see the meter voltage going up and down when in the slot for the turn sig.

+1 on the connections. The rear turn signal is plugged into the rear taillight housing. Check from power there and work your way back. It could also be a bad ground as well....

Is it a dual filament bulb, sounds silly but that has happened to me before.

But he said it works when he moves to other side. The relay must be working since the front signal is working.

I had the same problem when I installed the front turn signal relocation kit. Once everything was tinned, soldered and wrapped up, I had a short or some such. When I wiggled the wires the light would either go off or stay lite constantly. Regretfully I have no solution, I gave it to the dealer to fix.

Thanks for the ideas guys I am going to try all of them when I get home tonight. Cant be the bulb since I swapped bulbs and this bulb worked in the other housing. I have not used a multimeter on it yet, but I have jiggled and played with the wires in just about everyway possible.

Could it be a problem with the connector at the brake light?
