Brakes lights and gas.
Check tires when I'm out staring at it at 3:00am.
Oil when I get home from a ride.

T-Dub. I'm surprised you can get yours out. Maybe I have my heat shields on a little differently. When I put them on I thought maybe I missed something in the instructions. I called Vance and Hines and they said that all of their pipes fit tight with not much clearance but with the Big Radius there is none. I tried one of the LCD dipsticks but the stupid piece of junk fried from being so close to the pipe after maybe a month or so.
I guess I must have got lucky. I have had no problems at all getting it out since I installed the pipes.

Pre-ride checks are for pussies!!!...Spoken like a true idiot!!! But seriously mine is mainly visual as im gearing up. The more close inspections i do as im tinkering around trying to hide from the woman in the garage. Which occurs quite often so i dont feel it to be nessesary to give a close inspection right before i take off.

Pre-Flight check every time.....Tires, (long tire life and my safety depend on it), Lights, oil, and wipe down bike, and remove bugs from bike. (yea, I'm ****) 15 minutes later, I'm riding!!!
