Default Quick-Release Super Sport Windshield

Part no 57300-06

Was just wondering if anyone has this windshield on their ride, & if so what do you think of it.

Thanks, Paul.

I bought this 57300-06 on ebay cheap just for the clamps & brackets. I did try it out for a few days. I'm 5'6" and I would need to cut 3" off just to see over it. It measures 19 1/2" above the head light. Most off the buffeting @ 70mph was on my chin/beard. It might work better for a taller rider.

I love mine, but it is modded in a couple ways.

I have it lowered by cutting it more above the light. This was an easier cut to make, and it also makes me think it would block more of the wind below which is what causes the "buffeting"...still could use about an inch off the top to be perfect for me.

With me cutting it, I think that it fits more closely to the light which is probably good.

I'm 5'6" also, and with my girl on the back I tend to lean back more and I am looking right at the top, but if I sit normally I can see over it just fine.

Another mod I did was to add the deflectors from a touring bike. These do help out, but one of them got a stress crack so it had to be cut down to only about 6"...still seems to help out so I leave them on.

Looking at your pic, compared to mine, my clamps are right on the lower tree...seems like it is a good 2" or 3" lower with the cut-out light mod.

I have the sport shield that HD sells for the Rocker. Part number is 57253-08. The fit is perfect for the '06 and newer Dynas with the mid-glide front end. For me it is the best shield that HD makes that fits this bike. It is small but it is quite curved and it is the only shield that I have tried that has no buffeting. It does not take the wind of my face but it does remove wind blast from my chest and shoulders. Most importantly the wind that does get to me is clean and smooth. I use both a full face and a half helmet and have not experienced buffeting with either while using this shield.

I saw your post a while back about cutting the headlight opening & it looks good and I even save that post.
If the brackets & clamps don't work as planned on my Del Rio I'm going to give your mod a try.

Thanks for the replies, good to see some pics of what it really looks like. Still not 100% sure, but think it would be good for long trips.

Mine looks about the same as yours, the HD q/r w/s, bought through eBay, but the top is well below my line of sight @ 5'7". W/ wind coming from a certain direction I can get buffeting. But I never ride w/o it. It makes a great place to store a fleece pullover, between it & the bars. Had to add a skirt around the headlight to prevent backscatter.

I have it, and it's the most worthless waste of money that I can think of.

I swear to God, it almost makes the wind WORSE from the buffeting. Poorly designed, and does nothing to cut down on wind. I can literally put my face right up against it while riding, and I still feel wind in my face, as though it's not even there.

Conversely, the winshield on my FLH is awsome. You can ride in 20 degree weather and not feel a thing.

I have it on my wide glide and while it looks terrible ( all windshields look terrible) it works really well and I just pop it off if I'm not going far.
