Anyone gone from Softail to Dyna?

HaHaHa on the Wideglide dig!! No offense Widegliders but it was funny!!! ( I can say that only because my hubby once owned one and for some reason I could never ride it comfortably.)

It's funny, different stokes for different folks.
I've ridden all the softails and just can't get on with the balanced motors, feels too placid, same goes for the handling.
Did the Road King thing for a while but it turned me into an old man.
For me it's got to be the Dyna for the handling, rubber mounted engine & looks.
The Dyna forwards are really far forward though, further than a softail but that's another plus for me being 6'5"
If it's a major issue for you look at aftermarket forwards, my SJP Engineering forwards aren't as stretched out as the Harley ones.

I have one of each and love 'em both but they are different.
I find the floorboards on the FatBoy perfect and there's really nothing you can do on the Superglide to duplicate that without more trouble than I can reasonably undertake. But the mids do make me feel more in control.
I wouldn't want to pick a winner, but I do like the SG a lot more than I thought I would. Still early.

I got a 01 wideglide with apes! I put a hole in the exhaust from dragging it thru turns! I also got a 03 heritage springer! I rub the floorboards off of that and the front engine gaurd! Love riding both! Sooner ride my springer on long rides! but if im off horsing around i'll take the wideglide!

Isaac,
I'm a bit bias, and of course most comments coming from this forum will be just as if you posted this in the ST forum. I've not riden a ST for long periods of time, nor have I owned one. But, I can tell you there's just something that runs through your veins when you cruising on a Dyna. For me, It's like no other.....

There's a Wyatt Gatling floorboard kit for the Dynas that puts the floorboard between the mid- and forward-controls ... I think you might lose a little clearance, not much ... but, I think you'd have much of what the Dynas offer with respect to improved handling and more of a motorcycle feel (less sedate) ....
I love the styling cues of the Deluxe ... have adapted a lot of it to my Super Glide ....
Think you will like the Dyna if you end up taking the plunge ....

I have an 91' fxsts and 09' bob.
They are pretty much different.
Springer has a softer ***, and springer has alot more play.
Streetbob has a tighter front end, and a harder ***.
Streetbob performance with better drive train and less weight is better for winding roads and hitting the ton.
Bob is just plain old fun.
