***Wrapping and Installing my D&D fatcat.....

Agreed - don't care about the pipe finish - but what about the pipe itself? Does it weaken or degrade the pipe integrity in any way?

Certainly it would take years if it did and nobody stays with a pipe forever. Styles change and people get bored with what they got, or change the build and have different pipe requirements.
In my opinion, nothing to worry about.

I can't say I've ever heard of a case that it totally trashed the pipe.

Chris,
That looks absolulty bad ***. I saw that dei titanium wrap prob a year ago and really thought about wrapping up mine. This may push me over the edge.
Did you end up wrapping over the heat shields? If so what's the thought process behind doing that??
Merry Christmas!

also this wrap doesnt require it to be wet when you wrap the exhaust which is nice and you dont have to spray it with silicone. but i did paint the headers with high heat bbq paint to protect it i guess

I think what is trying to be said is that the pipes are being SUPER heated and not allowed to have the air properly cool the metal, and depending on the quality/thickness of the header pipe, it could crack in a matter of weeks or last a few years. But...it is pretty much going to happen eventually due to having the heat trapped in the metal by the wrap. This can be even worse for the guys that don't have properly tuned bikes...that are running lean.
While I do agree it looks great and I would do it, just a risk that should be noted.
