Okay , good responses , thanks guys . I am somewhat concerned about the silver getting stained from tar , and oil on the road . I know that cast aluminum is a very porous . I found an '07 Super Glide with under 8k miles for 8500 dollars , and I'm finding it hard to walk away from . I'll keep you all updated !

Remember, the blonde engine is powdercoated and not raw aluminum...it has a pretty good coating, using cleaners mentioned won't harm it.

Sounds like a pretty good deal Jayson, go for it!

Thing is....if I get this Super Glide....I'll be kicking myself for selling my Thunderheader . Oh well , live and learn . Perhaps a RB racing 2 into 1 will be in my future . ??????

That was the pipe I was looking at...go for it! I think it would look sick with a RB on it!

Meh, look at it this way....you prolly wouldn't have been happy on a bagger anyway!

Another mild but effective cleaner is "Shout", the laundry cleaner. I usually mix it parts of Shout to 1 part of water. Spray on use a bottle brush to scrub with then rinse. Pretty mild, hasn't etched my polished aluminum in 4 years.

Shout and occasionally Simple Green have always worked for me.

Do you guys have to pay taxes on your bikes? If so, that OTD price is pretty decent, although in the winter I would expect more off asking price......but Oregon is different with similar FXD's newer going for about that or less.

However, that silver is HOT, love the tin color and it has a few extras, that is coo.

I am looking to know how to repair a scratch that a mechanic put on the motor.
Prob too late now, but I'd have that mechanic remove the scratch...
