All new 07 Dyna Owners

RE: All new 07 Dyna Owners
i traded my 06 sporty (8600 Miles) in for an 07 FXD so i know where you are coming from. i had my 883 big bored to 1200...replaced the seat, progressive 412 shocks, added foreward pegs, changed the handlbars, etc. the bottom line is that i LOVED my sporty but for me it was a 100 mile bike...it was nimble and quick to respond, got great gas milage and looked and sounded great BUT, when i tried to ride with my buddies 300 - 400 miles i was beat to death. The FXD totally changed that. i can ride all day and never have a problem. as far as it being quicker than the sporty i dont know, but if it is it isnt by much. the suspension is totally different though. the bumps that bother you on the sporty you will never feel on the dyna. why i dont know. if i hadnt been riding longer distances i would have saved the 6 grand and kept my sporty but if you think you might travel it would be a good trade....
good luck

07 FXD w/ 1500 miles... I had an 06 883C, and just like other guys have said, I loved it but it was a 100 miles bike. At 6'1" it was pushing it! Traded for a new Dyna, and I love it! Haven't had any problems yet, I took it on a 2-day trip the first weekend I had it and it performed beautifully, corners like it's on rails and hauls *****. Any conditions that seem restricted can be fixed by AC & pipes, same as any other bike. The Dyna totally changed my riding experience; I've been planning longer and longer trips with no worries! I say go for it!

RE: All new 07 Dyna Owners
I have owned a 2006 and a 2007 street bob. Both were OK bikes and I have had no problems with the 07 yet.
If I was buying again I would buy a 2005 WideGlide without the Fuel Injection.
I went from an 04 1200R to the 06 Dyna and I prefer the Dyna to the sporty.

Anyone with an 07 Dyna. I'm considering an upgrade from my 883R to a Dyna. To many folks on the Sportster page who don't own a bigger bike have been dissing the 07's for problems. YOU own one. What do you think? Are you happy with it? Want to hear it from you rather than the salesman. Thanks for the help. Dave

I also came off a Sportster to a Dyna. I Went from a 2006 XL1200L to a 2007 Street Bob. The difference is night and day, no comparison at all. Youll kick yourself in the Nuts if you buy the Sportster and then regret it. The Dyna rides soooooooo much smoother and the power is comparable to my 1200L.It handles far better than my Sportster ever thought about. Ive also had no problems w/ my Bob and love the death out of it.

I've never had a Sportster, always wanted one, still do.I hate the closed loop FI on my 06 Bob so much I would ALMOST trade it for a carbuerated 1200R.That said the Dynas are much more comfortable than any sportster I've ever ridden or sat on and they handle amazingly well.

I also sold a Sportster to buy a 2006 FXDI. I had a 2004 1200C. I loved that bike, it was quick, handled great after I replced the shocks and springs, and it looked great and got good mileage too. But like everybody else said, it was a 100 mile bike. I bought the FXDI for comfort, not speed.
I do have to wonder about anybody who claims the BT is comparable to the Sporty power wise. Power output between the 2 bikes may actually be comparable, but the Sporty will outrun most any BT that does not have more than a stage I upgrade. My Sporty would peel the paint off the FXDI, and I do miss that speed.
