I think it makes the bike look long and slim.

It shows off that 180 tire nicely, the 200 when I change it out this spring.

Im wacking off the plate holder and putting on a side mount this week.

More eye pleasing fat tire.

Please explain.
I like the stock fender (especially with the LED tri-bar taillight), I just highly prefer the '10 Wideglide fender on the FB. It looks sweet with the integrated brake lights/turn signals and no light in the middle. My buddy has an Iron 883 that came with the same style fender/rear lights as the WG, and I always admire the style. Also, the WG fender looks even better when the rear end is lowered, and I imagine a 200 just makes it that much better.

My problem and the reason I haven't pulled the trigger on the mod is that swapping out the fender becomes a very expensive endeavor. Obviously, my fender now is denim silver, so if I change it, I'll have to have the new one painted. I'm not too confident that anyone will be able to match the color because denim colors are designed to fade over time, like a pair of good jeans. So I'd have to have all the tins re-done, and I'd probably have them powdered, because its so much more durable than paint. I've got a tiny nick in the paint on my tank next to my leather dash panel from when i dropped an allen key while adjusting my risers. It rips my heart out every time I look down and see that little speck (mostly because it was my own stupidity that caused it), so I'll want to avoid that kind of thing in the future.

Anyway, sorry for such a long response. Thats just my 2 pennies.

I'm currently working on chopping a stock Fat Bob Fender. It will be approx. 3-4 inches shorter. The look is not for everybody because of the clearances needed for a taillight. I'm using the Eliminator tail light from Cycle Visions which has run/brake/signal lights all in one with an integrated plate holder. I'll post up pics when I get it finalized.

Love the look of the whole bike. That's why the only mod I'll probably do is pipes and AC.

When they changed the style of the bobtail fender in '06 I hated it. But after looking at it with the fender rack it started to grow on me. I just wish they came out with the Fat Bob in '07 or at least known about it when I bought mine. I would have waited another 5 months.

It's a custom I made in 2009... a year before the new Wide Glide fender came out.
If I had waited I would have used it.

To each his own. I didn't think it was all that bad, I justed wanted to make the swap. It was more my flavor.

I like the stock bob tail fender because it makes the bike look nice and long.....especially if it's sporting a solo seat.
