Adding solo seat to Fat Bob

Adding solo seat to Fat Bob
I just ordered a Danny Gray SpeedCradle for my Fat Bob. I thought it would be simple to substitute it for my double seat. However, when I removed the seat, I noticed that the screw holes I would need to use to mount the solo seat had plastic inserts in them.
How do I get the inserts out? Do I need to take the tire off? (I'll need to take it to a dealer to do that.) After I get the inserts out, is there anything to screw the screw into? It sure doesn't look like it.
Also, there are four rubber pads GLUED to the fender that look like crap. How do I get those off without messing up the bike? If I take them off, how do I put my double seat back on without scratching up the fender.
You can see a picture of what the fender looks like with the seat off here:

You might also notice a big scratch that was underneath the seat. I'm not too happy about that either...
Your advice will be appreciated. Thanks.

step one: just pull the inserts out, real easy. get your nail under the edge of the insert and just jimmy it out.
step two: get a hair dryer and heat up the bumper pads that the seat was resting on. they should just pop right off. then you can attach them to the bottom of your 2up seat so they still offer the same protection, but come off when your seat comes off
step three: give that fender a good cleaning. spray it down, dry it, and wax it.
step four: pick up a seat nut from your local dealer or indy shop, it pops into the hole vacated by the plastic insert and accepts a screw to hold your seat in place.

now i just reach my hand under the fender and work it into the hole (giggity)
dono if you can do the same for the front hole, but having the seat nut stick up out of the fender won't be an eye sore there as it'll be under the 2up seat when you're not rockin a solo.
