Default One-off custom battery cover

I am pretty pumped up about how my Shovelhead battery cover (courtesy forum member "bikerlaw" ... THX!) turned out ... got a couple of photos so you can see how it looks ....

Mocked it up on my bike after having cut the sides off and trimming the top edge to fit in my battery top cover ....

Another mock up of the sides ready to weld onto the cover face ....

Photo of the welds ... not the prettiest, but do the job ....

One more photo ... stepped back and got a 'big picture' ....

It is a little rough ... but, I am hoping with a coat of powder on it, it'll clean up well ....

* * *

I realize it might not appeal to everyone ... but, I couldn't find anything that I liked (not a lot of options for '05 and earlier) ... and, it fits in with the style I'm going for with my bike ....

Finally, something that takes up the hideous gap between the bottom of the stock Dyna battery cover and the starter. Looks good. So paint, powder or rechrome?

I had been thinking of powder coating my electrical box cover and decided ... hey, why not do the battery cover, too ...?

Some owners of the '06 and later color their box ... I like that look ...

So, I think I'll see how I like it color matched with my 'tins' ....
