Great pics! I work for the company that makes/supplies some of the wiring/cables for these, and I can tell you these things are HUGE when seen up close!

Last summer we rode through the Altamont pass windfarm in N. CA. It is the largest windfarm in the world (as far as number) with over 4,000 of them scattered across the hills. Here is a pic of me on that weekend. The pic was not originally taken to show off the turbines but they are in the background.

I used to work for Vestas (the company name printed on the side of those turbines) as a technician. Got a few pics to share myself, although they don't include my bike. I traveled around the country for a few years working on them:

Here's one taken from the top of a turbine just outside Palm Springs, CA. Seriously the windiest place I've been in my life:

Last I checked, Tehachapi, CA was the largest, with around 7,000 of them. Palm Springs, CA has about 5,000. I don't mean to sound like a d*ck by correcting you, so I'm sorry if I do. I love seeing those little 50 and 80 foot lattice tower turbines that are spinning a mile a minute. They barely produce any power in terms of quantity by today's standards, but California was the first place in the world to really start embracing wind energy, and paved the way for the stuff you see today. Its so cool to ride through therand see them all. Even after working on them for a few years, I still can't help but stare at them in awe when I see them.
