Talking Made my FXDF a Handtooled Pillion to match my solo seat

Decided to make myself a low profile pillion seat to match the solo seat I made for myself over a year ago. I made it from scratch but also needed to boost the colour on my solo where the colour faded to ensure everything matched with the dash and bags I've already made.
Here's some pics from start to finish starting with foam cut to a shape which I covered with some neoprene. Twice the size (depth) without the leather attached!

Laced and wet moulded the shape. This was really hard and takes a while to do keeping the sides of the leather wet. I used a staple gun to tack the underneath once shaped. Kept stretching, pulling the tacks and re-stapleing until shaped.

Airbrushed some detail into my solo to boost the look where the colour had faded.

Finished seats together. Very pleased as to how the colour looks and the profiles.

Here is a mock up look on my bike with the pillion sitting on tissue paper, I still have to put some felt over the staples underneath to protect the paint on my fender. Not a great photo because of flash. The colour looks great in person plus I Still got to rivett new seat bracket to my solo to make evrything fit perfectly.

Love the way this has worked out and it looks amazing on the bike than in the pics. The leather on my solo is starting to get a more distressed look with natural scars and marks which I really like.

Default Outstanding!

Hey, 'Roc!
Your leather work is simply outstanding - fine example of true craftsmanship at work. Oh, and the 'Bob looks pretty good, too! Ride on!
