Difference in Pipes
Is there a sound difference in pipes based on the length, curves or anything else. Is there some basic sound guide? Longer = Lower etc etc? Any thoughts?
I have a 07 FXDL, and I'm looking at one of these;

I don't know about the other two but I have the Short Shots w/quiet baffles and the sound is lower in tone and not nearly as loud as my buddies 03 Heritage Softail with the Long Shots on it. The long shots also have a more tinny sound on decel. It is very hard to tell what the actual sound of pipes are by videos. I think it is best to find what you like actually seeing and listening to them in person. There are always events going onto do this.

Well, you can expect a set of pipes that are small diameter for their whole length (drag pipes) to be pretty loud because there is no room for baffles or maybe only little ones.
If there is a muffler section though, the length of this is often proportional to relatively lower sound level; a long & fat pipe is usually quieter.
Thing is, different manufacturers put different size baffles and different amounts of packing in similar sized mufflers. This can make a lot of difference in sound.
