That would be great if it does work because you could probably get 30,000 miles or more out of your tire. However, I would be concerned about leaning the bike. Car tires are not designed to be driven on the sidewalls.
I've seen darkside videos. The tires don't ride on the side walls.
The side walls are not designed for that kind of flex, on a Tourer or a Dyna. I would'nt do it. Its one thing to have a tire go flat on ya but quite another to have one have a catastrophic failure. Go visit the touring section there is a lot of debate and good videos on this.
man that bike is sick Jpace! what size wheel is that... how you like that arnott air ride that is my next major purchase!
Thanks Joe, you do some pretty sick work. It is a 21" x 2.15" w/ a 90/90 ME880, and I love the Arnott. You can dial them in while your riding with the onboard compressor. I Think they would be even more beneficial to someone who rides 2 up and carries cargo from time to time, like yourself. I mostly ride solo so I like the ability to dump it and ride around slammed or pump it up and have a good, adjustable suspension. They are still only 11.6" fully pressurized so its not a super plush ride, but well controlled. They make a 13" set too I believe. I also just like the look of them on the bike.......and where the hell are the pics of those bars already
DO IT! Would love to do a dark side con on my '08 FXDC but have not found a tire close enough to the stock 17" tire to run. I have read a lot about it and am convinced it would work, just have not found the right tire to try.
