My bike came with the V rated Dunlop K591 series rear tire and the Dunlop D-401F H rated front tire. Now while shopping I notice they make a 19" K591 for the front which some Harleys have. Has anyone tried the K591 on the front and if so any difference?

 

Mine has the k591 from the factory. I like it eventhough it's not a radial tire. It's got about 11k miles on it and maybe another 2k left. I plan on using the same replacement.

 

Anything but a D401, unless all you care about is mileage and you will not get the same high mileage out of a replacement D-401 as the OE.
I would go with the K591 if you want to go with the HD Dunlops, much better grip than the D-401. Better would be a Pirelli Night Dragon if you want great grip and ok mileage. I don't have experience with any other front tire, but I would bet the Avon and Metzelers handle well too. I am thinking of going to an Avon Venom front next. I will say that my ND rear seemed to grip a little better than the Avon Storm II (different compound than the Venom so apples and oranges), but I am debating going to the Venom and just staying with A ND front. Except that I am using up all of the ND tread and would also like to go to a 110 which Pirelli does not make.
