Thanks. Zukeeper, no I haven't. That particular tombstone tail light has a license plate mount built into it, so the plate has to go on the top. Theres a cutout at the top of the light to illuminate the plate itself. So to continue to use that particular light means the plate has to rest atop the light. Sadly, new tail lights are out of the budget this time around.
You guys aren't the first ones to mention the front fender. I had thought about either swapping to a 16 and big fender, or even keeping the 21 with a fuller, more dresser style unit. But then I just keep coming back to the original idea of staying slim and sleek up front. I think if I did a 16 incher with full fender, I would just have built a Heritage Springer that handles better and is 100 lbs lighter that the stock bike. As much as I hate to admit it, the blueprint for this build has been a custom Softail, from this site. This bike was what I have been using as a base for my build ideas, only lighter, faster and better handling than a Softail chassied machine, and in my opinion, better looking.
