Default batwing fairing on DYNA

Following "WideGlyBry" on here, I ordered a Mephis Shades Batwing fairing. Like him, I ordered one for a Yami V-Star 650:

Notice how HUGE the clamps are?

The windshield I ordered was a clear 12" tall model. That way, I can trim it to where I want it.

.....And, I splurged, and got the slotted trim for the mounting points:

I ordered some 41mm clamps off eBay to use instead. I await their arrival.

My bagger conversion is damn near done!

I'll post more pic after install.

Comments welcome, please.

Get that thing on there and lets see it! Just curious, why order the one for a Yami?

When "bry" was fitting the windscreens to his wideglide, his friend had one from a 650 Yami sitting there, and when they held it up IT FIT!!!

Memphis Shades does NOT make one for a DYNA....so you have to get inventive.

SO, I went with that. They all look the same though. As I said, I ordered some of the right fork brackets to make it work.

The windscreen is best done by marking where you want your cuts, and take it to a glass shop. For a few bucks they can make it perfect.

Thanks for the heads up on the mounting brackets stripping due to aluminum.....I've been there years ago

MS makes 2 sizes of the batwing. Other than that the only difference is the mounting brackets.

My guess would be that the brackets for a 1800 VTX would be pretty close to the Dynas wide forks.

Unfortunately no....it is smooth and shiny, just like the front. That's not to say that the mounting points in there could be rigged with a piece of aluminum, spanning across them that could be used to bolt something up.

Does that make sense?
