I ordered the batwing and brackets for a Yam 650, and then ordered the fork tube brackets. My fork tube brackets had the wrong mounting discs, so I swapped the mounting discs from the yam 650 one on to it, and on it went!

I had to really fiddle around with the brackets, and loosen everything up to get it to sit right. Then I raised the headlight 1.5 inches, and I was golden.

Joe,

Do you have ALL the part numbers you needed to do the install. I know you put alot into this and figured you might be willing to help some of us out that want to lead this direction.

I think it came out great. Needs a bigger diameter headlight, IMO. Either way great job.

NO part numbers, but here is what I ordered:

1. Batwing fairing for Yamaha V-Star 650, comes with the fairing, and the brackets to bolt it to the fork tubes

2. 12" clear windshield. You can always trim to fit your needs. If you get one too short, then you have to buy a new shield. Cheaper to get the big one, and then have a glass shop trim it for 20 bucks or so.

3. Memphis shades fork tubes clamps for 41mm forks.....they were listed as 39mm -43mm. You guys with a bike 2006 and newer will have to get the larger ones.....I can't remember if your fork tubes are 46mm or 49mm

4. Swap the clamp discs from the HUGE 650 clamps to the smaller correct ones for your bike.

That's it.

Looks great Joe! Where did you get the hardbags? Were they hard to mount? I like the squared off style like the FLH not the rounded ones a lot of aftermarket ones have.

Great job man, definite inspiration
