in New Mexico ride year round as while the temps get down, the weather is usually very
clear and my Gerbing heated gloves just can't keep up with 20 degrees and 70mph for
a couple hours at a stretch.
I getcha. I'm in the Houston area so we ride pretty much year round too. Don't get much of that real cold stuff tho. My main goal if I install the batwing would be protection from bouncing rock & stones and to take some wind off me without making my helmet bounce around my skull like it was in a paint mixer.

I'll be following this thread to see how it works out.

I will admit....I turned my lean and mean FXD into a rolling sofa.

For around town riding, a lightened up and built XL (Sporty) is the way to go.

This bike, is my "do everything", pack it up real quick and go coast to coast.

As long as my MP3 is charged, and I got gas and oil, I'm ready to roll.

I like it. Ive been on the fence between a fairing or raise the bars. Still undecided though.

Rewog,
what year is your bike? I've seen that there are batwings for 06 and older Dynas available in the Jpcycles catalog.

Can you give any insight how the wind buffeting is compared to a shield?

Memphis Shades doesn't make a batwing for a DYNA. You have to buy the batwing, and then the quick release hardware. For some reason they don't offer it as one kit.
