Default '07 Street Bob Tail Light options

Hi All,

I just purchased an '07 Street Bob (my first Harley and my first bike.) I've had it for about a month now and I absolutely love the bike and riding. I'm not looking to make major changes to the bike, yet. But, I would love to know what options there might be in the form of aftermarket tail lights. I was hoping for something a little smaller that "hugs" the fender a little more. I tried searching this topic but couldn't come up with too many options. Thanks for the help.

Nick

I'm running the smoked Kuryakyn Panacea on my '07 SB. It's about an inch shorter than the stocker and has the turn sigs built in. I removed the stockers in an attempt to streamline the rear a little.

Drag specialties has a fairly inexpensive smoked laydown tail light. It has an LED bulb.

Here is a crappy cell phone pic of it. Looks much better in person. It costs about 35 bucks and comes with the LED bulb.

Cheers,

Tom

I have the Kuryayn low profile smoked LED kit. Looks better and way brighter than stock.

Here is what I did. I removed the taillight and replaced it with a taillight license plate frame and then I attached the turn signals to the frame. I also run a Badlands illuminator so the turn signals function as run, brake and turnsignals. Future plans are to go with something smaller on the turnsignals.

I used the Drag Specialties laydown one, and the bulb ended up melting the plastic. I switched to the Kuryakyn LED, without the integrated turnsignals, and that thing was bright!

That is not good. Did you have the LED bulb?

Not trying to thread jack here...Seems like info we, (including the OP), would like to know regarding a tail light choice.

Cheers,

Tom

I would shave the tail light completely, then use your signals for stop/turn duties. I'm in the process of doing mine.

Looks good. How did you mount the plate? Did you cover the big hole left by the light?

I used the crome mounting piece that the HD taillight screwed onto and shaved it down so the license plate frame could be mounted flat onto it. The new license plate is now mounted right over were the taillight used to be. I covered the 3 old plate bracket holes with a tribal piece from kuryakyn.
