Ive got a-99 Dyna sport tc88 which supposedly has a Stage I installed (at least it has 2-1 exhaust). The wrinkle black air filter cover says "screaming eagle" and under it there is a round filter with three hex bolts that says "For H D Twin cam covers only". The filter is not tapered, it also has a HD logo stamp in it and the filter part seems reddish. Is this supposed to be a stage I filter or just some crappy OEM filter hidden under the "screaming eagle" filter cover? How can I tell, I cant find any pictures from the web that has similiar filter? Should I get an a K&N filter for replacement for better HP? Please help!

 

A picture of it would help. If you have a dealer nearby it would help to take it to them and see if they know what it is.

 

I had the same issue as I bought my bike second hand, but it had the football cover. I wanted to change to the stage 1 filters so went to the dealer, and he told me I already had the stage 1 and SE filter, which he said is made by K&N. They at least cleaned it up for me.

Mine is the round filter, whitish element. Has three hex bolts to attach to the intake. The metal surface is like unpolished aluminun and by its looks, you would not think its a SE filter. Trying to attach the picture from K&N.
