Question Master cylinder choice.

I just threw this out on the tech form but thought I'd try you guys too. Anyone know if there's a difference between the older 11/16 touring master cylinder and the newer 08+ Brembo master cylinder other than cosmetic? Both are for use with dual discs so are there any pros or cons for using either in a dual disc conversion? I can't see where the caliper volume would be that much different between the Harley calipers and the Brembo/Harley calipers? Or is it. I can't find any info on piston sizes for either caliper.

Brembo is a quality product that H-D appreciates, nuff said. I’m sure the components of the working parts are built better to be more responsive.

Be careful, Spaceblue. Make sure the piston diameter in the Brembo is not any bigger than the one you have or you will have less force on the calipers and therefore less braking power.

Hey Spaceblue,
Did you find out if the Harley 11/16 master cylinder will work with the 08-later Brembo front brake conversion? I am planning on changing my 04 FLTRI over to the new setup, but I would like to keep the present m/c & clutch bracket because they are chrome. Anyone have any experience with this conversion?

Sorry RK, All I ever got was a bunch of dumb replies from people who really didn't know. At the time I asked the question I didn't have a master that would work with my dyna dual disc conversion. I ended up going with a Brembo master cylinder which I purchased off of ebay. I'd still be of little help to you with your change as my conversion is using Ducati Brembo calipers. As far as how everything works, the jury is still out. Round here we are still up to our ***** in friggin snow.
