Default Thinking About A New Battery

I am thinking about getting a new battery for my 04 LR, since it still has the original battery in it. Any advice on which one to get, or not to get???

I've been through a lot of batteries and nothing I've found beats a genuine Harley battery combined with diligent use of a Battery Tender. My last one has been going strong for more than 4 years, and before that I went through 3 batteries in less than 2 years.

It was actually the guys at Battery Tender that set me straight on this and they were 100% correct from my viewpoint. They're great guys with customer service by the way.

Default Battery

++ On the Battery Tender, even if you can only put it on some of the time. I am stuck on the glass mat batteries they hold a charge longer.

Well guys thanks for the replies, I feel that I may be pushing my luck as well. That's why the thread, the battery in my truck and my wife's both died within a months time, and the bikes older. I do use a tender and it cranks pretty strong but, you never know!!!

Try here: http://www.dekabatteries.com/

They make all of the HD stock batteries. Find their local distributor by calling them and you will save $30-40.00 over dealer. Their distributor here is 4 miles form my house. The exact replacement was $79 versus $110 at the dealer. Then go on Amazon and get a Deltran battery tender jr for $28 which is the same as the HD $50 one.

Batteries are very unpredicatable, but my 03 Dyna is on its original and still going strong. Someone mentioned Odyssey, but the one I bought only just got out of its two year warranty, so I won't be buying another! I wouldn't replace yours just yet.
