Burly Ape Extended Cable/Line Wiring Kit
I was wondering if anyone has used these kits when installing apes. Just curious how it worked out. Also if anyone has any closeup pics of the cables either before or after the install.
Here's a link to their website that shows the kit. http://www.burlybrand.com/cablekits/index.aspx
Is the brake line the only one that's braided?
Thanks!

Found this on a blog on Burly's website:
"We love the look of a set of apes on a Sportster, but hate sorting out which cables and brake line to use. With that in mind we locked some of our R&D guys in the shop until they sorted it all out and created COMPLETE cable/line control kits. We’ve now eliminated all the trial, error and inventing of bad words that used to accompany mounting a set of apes. Each kit is specific to a year range and bar height, 12”, 14” and 16” apes and includes extended throttle cables, extended clutch cable, extended brake line and even wiring harness extensions. Cables and brake line are satin black (even the fittings!) and the kit includes instructions to help walk you through the install."

Right now, i'm leaning towards going with Burly narrow glides. I'm trying to figure if I want to go with 14's or 16's. Will most likely have the dealer install, just curious what you get for the $$ for the Burly kit.

Just installed their kit on my nightster. Running 16''.
The kit is great and well worth the money. Instructions are great and easy.Besides my issues below. If they could fix this I would buy again anyday.
One issue,well two.
The clutch cable was long enough for 20'' apes. It was insanely too long. Also the throttle cables I tried to internally wire them and they were too short.(not sure if your suppose to internally wire those or just your housing/signal wires).
All in all its a good kit. But maybe measure twice build once?

Nope, no sodering. Comes with all the wires and heat shrink sleeves. Just unconnect stock wires, connect new wires, heat shrink and plug in new wire. Done.
Its a good kit. But ask around the dyna guys because like I stated above my nightsters burly kit seemed to be too long and short.
Also dont let the dealer install. Save yourself that money. If you are mechanically sound you can do this. I had no clue what to do. Me and another guy did it. Took 2 days because it got late/dark. But dealer quoted me 5-7hrs. No way in hell it would take that long for someone who knows what to do.
Its actually really easy now that I know what to do.
