Talking And yet ANOTHER "Which one should I buy" Thread.....

Hey everyone.. Loving the forum and the support. I know it's all in the rider, as far as which bike one should buy, but I do like the feedback and the personal opinions that you share.

I test drove today 3 bikes.. A Low Rider, Super Glide, and a Wide Glide..

I didn't care too much for the low rider for some reason. It didn't feel as manuverable in as the other ones.. I liked the Super Glide, and then the Wide Glide was realllly nice.. I don't know if it was the forward controls and the mini ape combo, but it felt like the "experience" that I was looking for. I haven't tried the Street Bob yet, and this was top on my list..

Any thoughts on the above paragraph? Would the Super and Low feel a lot like the WG if it had forwards and mini apes?

Here's the link on the WG that I'm eyeing.. I think I can get him to $10k on it.. Would you say this is under market, average, or above market value?

2007 WG - if I could negotiate it down to $10k.

Please don't bike c*ckblock me..

Now.. so this kind of leads me to either the WG or the Street Bob.. I know I've asked similar questions before, but I just want a summary of thoughts.. Would the SB feel like the WG if I got forward controls on it? I like the looks of the SB, and I could maybe get one for around $9k, which would save me $1k compared to the WG.. I do around town, but ride to work 20 miles a day back and forth on the highway.

What are your thoughts? 07 WG or 07 SG??

Thx!

Also.. the WG is bone stock.. I'd probably have to cave in and get pipes, so I should factor that cost in. Although on the SB I'd probably have to get forwards, so I'm not sure if it makes that much of a difference.

I was fortunate enough to have a friend that had a Street Bob and let me ride it several times. I fell in love with it. I have done a lot of things to mine. (I saw the diamond in the rough). All I can say to you is that no one can make the decision but you. Everyone has favorites and opinions about what you should do to it. I have found that there is always something else I want to do. I think everyone does. It sounds like you have ridden several different models so just get what you like and what feels good to you. Don't worry about what everyone thinks you should get or do to it. Make it yours. As long as you like it that's all that matters. Hope this helps.

Not trying to be a dick, but are you serious or just playing around? In your last thread (or was it the one before) you said you didn't want to go over $9,000.

Anyhow, since all of these bikes are built on the dyna platform they will have similar rides. If you look at late models, they all share the same 96" motor and trans. Factors like rake, tire size, handlebar options and peg positions will effect the rides somewhat, but many of these are "adjustable" and can and will change as you make changes to the bike.

The SB has less rake and mid controls compared to the WG which is more raked and has forwards so the ride will feel a little different. It seems you're pretty sensitive to the ride so test a SB and see how it compares to the WG in terms of which you prefer. (It sounds like you really like the look and ride of the WG).

Also, unless the previous owner made extensive changes, the SB is more stripped down vs the WG.

Bottom line is get the one YOU think rides and looks best. Can't wait to see which bike you end up with. Good luck.

Your mind is already made up. You won't admit it, but we all see it. Either that or you are trying to convince yourself the wide glide is the better choice. Test ride a couple of other bikes and see what you think. If you find yourself thinking of the WG, then get it.

With them asking $11'900 it's a no brainer to draw them down on the price. The streetbob & superglide custom are $12'900 brand new! I would shop around for a deal on a new '10 leftover if I was you. There's so many dealers that have '10s laying around that their knocking off decent amounts to get them outta there. My local dealer has a '10 leftover streetbob for $13k out the door.

Thumbs up

If you were Impressed with the WG and it has the bars and forward controls already and you liked the ride then work the deal, forwards and bars will be every bit of 500.00 in parts
plus dealer labor? Pipes? Air cleaner and Tune? (the SB already has the bars)
--WG-- The WGs usually bring a little more of a premium
just another 2cents

Well, I got him down to $10k on the WG.. I obviously have commitment issues.. I get really obsessive about making sure I'm making the right decision, to the point that I don't do anything. I've had a ton of bikes in my life, trying to find one that is absolutely perfect. Then I research and research and just get confused. I think your right. The wide glide is probably the bike for me, I just hate spending 10k on something, but I guess you have to pay to play. I think I'm going to pull the trigger on the wide glide..

I'm just wondering at this point if I should spend the 10k on the 96inch 2007, or spend half that on a 2001 88inch with pipes already. Is the new engine, technology that much better?
