Most guys that weight say the HD version is too heavily sprung, so use the standard duty version. Any 11 shock will ride rough so if you want a lowered ride those shocks will do.

TheDon nailed it for you. I have prog 440's thinking they gotta be the cat's ***, but they still suck. They do their job which is keeping the rear wheel on the ground, but they bottom out and are just too stiff to enjoy the ride on regular roads. I Bottom out with standard springs and my weight is 190 lbs.

huh. I have the 11.5" 440's and I weigh 195 and I have a different opinion. While the ride isn't plush, they are not bottoming out at all and the ride isn't bad.

I may be the only one that likes my stock 12 inchers. I think they ride fine. To me it was the front end that sucked from the factory.

I don't have the 11" but I do have 12" 412 hd's and have no complaints. I do have them adjusted to the 3rd setting and with me weighing in at 280 lbs, I have yet to bottom them out. Most guys I know that run the 412's will all agree unless your around 250 or better your better off sticking with the standards.
