I just put on the 11" 412 on my fatbob a few weeks ago and seems to ride good about the same as the stock shock but shorter. I weigh about 220. Of course I have never riden on a high end shock so maybe if I were to I might have a different opinion of these.

I went back to my stock units. The 11" H-D 412's were a little low and stiff for my liking. Will sell them to good home with no children ;-)

Ya I know but I ride mostly in canada , quebec specifically, where you can get lost in some of the potholes . Sometimes all I hear is bang! and I'm lifting off the bike involuntarily.

I put 412's on a little over a year ago. MUCH better than the stocks springs. I went with the stock height though. I was bottoming out all the time with the OEM's. Maybe using shorter springs isn't the best idea to avoid bottoming out.

I have the 412 "Heavy Duty" 11" and I'm looking to go back to 12" or longer.I guess it depends on what kind of shape your in and how much pain you're willing to put up with to look cool.Or, how much money you're willing to spend on shocks. They do look good and if they're adjusted correctly they probably won't bottom out but the ride is harsh to say the least.I'd happily trade mine for a set of stock Fatbob shocks

I'm very happy with the standard suspension, but would like the black. How do the progressive 12s ride compared to stock?

Hey Ed- I have a 2010 FB with stock shocks on it. It is actually in the shop getting some mods done and the shock covers are being powdercoated as we speak. If you are interested in a trade hit me up on a PM.

Later Bro.
