RE: Top motor mount
I'm not even sure where these mounts are...so I can't check to see if they're tight...but I have been concerned about it. Could someone give me a good description of where these are, what they should be torqued to, and if you can remove them easy so as to apply some loctite.
Thanks.
Todd

RE: Top motor mount
Hello Todd
The only thing I see in the shop manual that even remotely resembles a top engine mount is called a stabilizer link. It is shown on page 2-82 along with illustrations of the front and rear engine mounts. Page 3-3 lists the torque specification as 18-22 ft-lbs. This “stabilizer link” bolts to the frame on one end and the other end appears to bolt to the bracket that the horn is mounted on. It is located up under the gas tank of course ( You know how HD likes to make stuff hard to get to.) and the view is kind of obscured by the throttle body / air cleaner on one side and the horn bracket on the other.
Hope this is a help.
