Nice bike Keith...by-the-way, I'm an old transplant from upstate myself. Just outside Syracuse in a small town called Clay. What part are you from?

Don't procrastinate too long about the seat. Plenty of people have paid amidge to the sundowner. I think you would be happy with it. Have it myself. You look like a bigger guy than I and the 16" wide seat is nice on the butt if you know what I mean, not a banana or a pancake.

The sundownder seat sounds good.

Also looking at a Mustang seat that has a removable backrest

Does the sundowner hold you from sliding back when you accelerate?

Thanks

IMHO,
Mustangs are great, however this is my only aftermarket seat. I can tell you, I think it moves you back a bit from the stock seat although I have a Bob, not a glide. A buddy has a corbin and it seems to move you forward an inch or more.

The stock seat is getting a bit better after 500 miles, but still needs to GO

She-it!
I grew up north of you guys. I was born in Watertown, and raised in Sackets Harbor. Left there over 20 years ago though.

I had a sundowner on my Sporty and it was a comfy seat. I still run the stock solo on my Dyna though and have no problems with it.

The Sundowner is actually called a Deep Bucket seat. It has a pretty good rise to it on the rider seat back. Just look at the pics of jmbear328's and voyager1's. You shouldn't slide back with it.

I ordered a leather Badlander that will go on my FXD from day one-love the look,I hear it's sort of firm, not the most comfortable, but I'm used to doing hours of off-road mountainbiking and the Badlander has got to be 10 times more comfortable than what I'm used to.The passenger section looks like it's not good for more than an hour's ride, but if we do a trip I figure it's no big deal to throw some kind of gel or sheepskin pad on it for Mrs. T 3.
