Default Heavy Vibration

I currently own a 2006 HD Low Rider. I have been having a heavy vibration at certain deceleration speeds. I have taken it to the local dealership and they verify the noise, but could not find the problem. They have tightened everything.

When I accelerate up to cruising speed, as I slow down to a stop at 30 mph the motorcylce begins to vibrate heavily until 10 mph, then it stops.

It feels like the vibration is coming from the rear end.

Any direction would be greatly appreciated!!!!

Thanks.

I would check your wheel alignment, wheel bearing, swing arm bushings, and the belt in the tire may be separating. Look for cuping or any abnormal wear or the rear tire. hope you get it fixed!

Default Heavy Vibration

The HD mechanic talked about the tire. He did not understand and my tire man said it was unusual that it also did not have the vibration at the higher speed. Any thoughts???

I think you need to get the bike up off the ground and give a few things a thorough inspection, and grab ahold of the swing arm give it a wiggle, the rear wheel bearing as well. The way your describing it is, it only happens when there is large amounts torque on the rear end.

Only during decel? Never while accelerating?

In neutral revving the motor, no vibration?

How about in neutral at the same speeds?
Does the vibration stop if you pull in the clutch?

The dealer had no clue??????

Check your exhaust bracket off the motor. Mine keeps snapping a bolt head for some reason. I'm on my third one do far. Its not binding and I'm not tightening them to much either. When it does break I notice some more vibration though. I'd say you need to check your mount in the back as well.
