I have warrantied more Snap-on and Mac than I have Craftsman. My box at work is full of Snap-on, Mac, Matco, and even Cornball, but my box at home is full of Craftsman. For standard wrenches you can not beat craftsman and their professional line is comparable to snap-on for basic wrenches as far a feel. I too use the craftsman pro-ratchets on the job. Funny, I also use industrial finish Snap-On, so there are two of us. I have better control with a craftsman rough chrome finish than a chrome SO or Mac, you have to wonder why they use micro-finish chrome around grease? When you need specialty wrenches you don't have much choice but to go to the trucksters.
Most Sears, K-Mart and OSH are minutes away compared to the tool guy who comes by once a week, maybe and then takes another week to replace the tool if he does not have it in stock, so who is really more convenient even at work?
