No, I hard mount the saddle bags right through the HD quick disconnect hardware. Then I can use the sissy bar and bags. It's not truly a plug and play setup... but, like I said earlier, it only takes me 15 mins to change from one look to the other.

Looking thru these post, I guess I'm the only one out here willing to pay for HD QD's.

'Pcked them up used for cheep, and insurance company bought me new ones after a collision with a deer last fall.

As stated; They are QD, and come off in about 30 seconds for both. I have the bike set-up for a QD sissy bar w/ luggage rack also. So it's set-up kinda like older "Convertable" style Dyna.

It takes about 2 min. to change over from "Solo" to 2-up ready for the long haul.

Fox Creek Leather... Love them... I mounted them with quick release brackets so easy on and off with a key lock...

 

***** and Max braided compact slant throwover bags. Fit right between shocks and turn signals. They dont hold a lot of stuff, but I don't carry a lot of stuff. Can fit a leather jacket in one though.

Quick release straps and zip on and off. Seem like good quality leather and have held their shape well. About $105 shipped online. Got the same style sissy bar bag too.

Going to buy the braided tool bag one day too, $20 WallyMart bag works fine for now.

 

I have the HD hardmount bags but did not like the way they stuck out so made my own bushings and tucked them in close.

 

Biker's Friend Barrel Bags offer back support, storage and a clean look. Just an option.

 

sliding in here as I too am looking for new bags. I want throw over for looks. The bags I had with my last bike were big soft throw overs, looked great.
Ones I have now are stiff boxes... hate them. Great because they are detachable, handles as a suitcase, but ugly.

Sold on the barrel.. nice, depends where it is sits though, close to rider is a better look.
