Got my heel/toe issues worked out.
I just wanted to share some parts I put on my bike this week. Seems like allot of us Dyna guys are switching to floorboards, me included. All kinds of boards from the minis to the Dyna Defenders, and some people are even fabing up Softail boards to fit our Dyna's. That being said, no matter whats on the bottom of my bike, heel/toe shifters are a necessary evil for me due to my laundry list of health issues. So I wanted to share some projects I whipped up for my bike. All I had to do to get the heel/toe to work with my floorboards was use my stock style Dyna shifter that goes up and out as opposed to straight forward like the Softails, and drill a 3/8 hole in the shifter right at the curve. Then I could bolt a standard straight shifter to it, with a spacer and a few star washers to assure it doesn't slip when I stomp on it. I bought a used straight shifter on ebay for $7.50 vs. going to the stealership and getting robbed. I got the 3/8 grade 8 hardware at Lowe's. This setup works well enough with my "bolt on" floorboards that I wanted to share a few pics with you guys, as well my experiences. All I really can say is I'm pretty happy so far and theres PLENTY of room for my size 12 boots.
And for those who want a heel/toe setup, but want to keep foot pegs instead of floorboards, a stock Shovelhead FLH shifter will bolt right on the the stock Dyna Forward Controls and make stomping down with your heel to up-shift a snap.

The ONLY thing I miss about my Dresser is the heel/toe shifter.
Some of it what you did has me a little confused, but I'm sure it will make sense once I get the parts I'll need to do the change over. Which will be sometime in the future, medium to long term.
Forwards don't work for me due a crushed ankle I received courtesy of an '89 Buick. So I have to upshift using my heel (more like the achilles area, technically). So it was either mids or a Dresser when I went for my new bike. No way I was getting another Road Toad. Not a chance in hell that was gonna happen.
Just knowing it can be done, and done tastefully, is a big help. Thanks, I'm gonna save this thread.
