Default Best Sounding Slip-On Muffler Question

Hello everyone! I have a question that I'm sure has been asked a million times but wanted to get some expert opinions. I have a 2007 Super Glide FXDSE that is all stock. I am interested in trying some slip on mufflers to get just a "little bit" louder sound but not much over stock. I like the deeper rumble sound over the "straight piped" very loud sound. I'm not interested in having to run a tuner at this point and want to keep it simple for now. So far I am curious about the V&H slip ons, or the Rush slip ons. Let me know your opinoins on these if you have heard them. Thanks in advance for insight to a common question I am sure.

Cycle Shacks are inexpensive, but the may be louder than you are looking for. They do sound nice.

I like and have Rush with 2.0 baffles, but you might need 1.5 or 1.75. if you prefer just a little louder than stock. To me, the Rush mufflers have a lower rumble than V&H. Best thing to do is go to a dealer and/or bike night just to listen to the differences.

My preference is the V&H slash cut slip ons, I personally like the sound, they are definately louder than stock. I had the Rush 2.0 slip ons also and to me they were louder than my V&H's.. Just my 2 cents

+1 on Rush. Recently put on a pair of straight cuts with 1.75" baffles on momma's '10 stock Deluxe. They have a good deep rumble but not obnoxiously loud.

Thanks everyone for the quick response!. I know most likely it will be trial and error but I really appreciate your opinions and experiences with the different brands.
Great forum!

I had some Cycle Shacks and they sounded good but you will probably need to do the stage 1 with those. I have D&D now and I absolutely love them. Deep sound at WOT and not too loud to keep the neighbors and law happy. You can't go wrong with the Rush either. I have several friends that run them and they have all been satisfied. Sound good and reasonable price. They also have good customer service if something goes wrong with them.

As rocknrick said you should hear them before you buy them. Local bike nights and or dealer would probably be the best places to hear all kinds of different pipes. Most people would not hesitate to fire up their ride to let you hear their pipes. When I was looking at new pipes the dealer let me listen to several bikes he had in the shop. Better to hear them first than to waste your time and money buying something you will not like.
