Default Short people CAN ride with forwards!

I am not even quite 5'-4" tall. I think my inseam is between 28 and 29", if I am measuring right. I ride an '08 Street Bob. I decided I wanted to go to forward controls because believe it or not, short as I am, the mids were just not comfortable. I kept getting talked out of it because of my height.
Well, hubby installed HD forwards on my SB yesterday and I love it. And I actually feel better in turns in the more stretched out position, contrary to most people who prefer mids on the twisty turnies. Guess I am an odd duck, lol!!

I DID go to the dealer and sit on a Wide Glide as some had suggested, to see if I thought they were too far out, and I felt it was O.K. I have to admit, I started having second thoughts as hubby was doing the install!! I'm glad I didn't because I think after various "tweakings", I have FINALLY gotten my Street Bob just right for me. And it only took 2 riding seasons to do it

I test rode a Rocker that comes with fowards. Coming off my SB with mid controls and hiway pegs, it felt strange having to shift from the front position. Riding in traffic, I kept wanting to move my feet to the middle, but there wasn't any place to put my feet!
But it's your ride. If it feels good, do it.

I bought reduced reach kit for my fatbob and never used it. Need to put it on eBay. I'm only 5'5". Reduced reach seat helped a lot.

I am 5'5" and have had both mids and forwards over the years. I prefer the forwards myself.

I am 5'7" and have forwards. I had a hard time keeping my foot on the pegs and higher speeds. So I got the reduced reach forward kit. Now it is perfect. It was mainly my right foot due to a crash back in the late 70's . My leg on the right is a 1" shorter after the rebuild.I am still running the stock seat on my Lowrider.

Best of both worlds- floorboards.

I had mini floor boards on my wide glide. They were in the position of the forward controls but extended back a bit further...they were more likely to scrape than my pegs though.
