Default '05 wideglide tanklift complete

Well all, the question has been answered. I know there's been a lot of talk in past few months. It was will lift work on wideglide or not. I purchased it from JP Cycle for $60.00.
The kit made lift pretty simple took about an hour. The kit was a 2" lift. I had no problems except hose they supplied for tank breather was wrong size. They also sell 3" kit but wiring could become an issue it may be short, not sure on this.

What does the tank lift kit do? Does it affect the fuel gauge readings?

It doesn't do anything but sit there
Actually, it is mainly done for looks, but also gives better air flow to the top of the motor & makes it easier to clean the top and helps block wind from the underside.
My low fuel light comes on around 80 miles w the lift, use to come on around 100m

Personally, not liking the looks. I was considering doing this, but thanks to your efforts, I now know not too. Ain't what I was looking/hoping for.

Looks good! It looks as though the 2 bracket system I've got would work just as well as what you've got and I wouldn't suggest going any higher than the 2" though. I think too much open area would be overkill. Just an opinion.

Thanks all

Yea everybody has different tastes and what there looking for on your bike. I'm pleased with looks and hope it runs air flow better. I have not been out yet hope to this weekend. Rudedog, I'm with you on no more than 2" lift . I'm sure your kit would have worked and bet price is better. Maybe you should post picture of your kit . I tell others when out ridding .The only thing tbd is fuel pickup and gauge level. Post on in in near future. Stay SAFE

gconley,
OK, you've had the 2 inch lift for a while, any other thoughts on this? Thanks in advance.
