For those with ricor rear shocks
#11
I have 11.5 cruiser on mine. No issues with bounce, but still bottom out often. I am slowing turning them clockwise, which is stiffer. I am only at 3 turns, anyone have an idea where I should roughly be at? I weigh 190 and rarely do 2 up. I dont have a jack so couldnt do the sag adjustment. But sounds like I need to have a bit more full turns to get closer.
Even with the bottom out issue, its a lot better than stock or the short 412s I previously had on.

Just my own experience with Ricor 13-1/2" sport tuned shocks.
Since Brian at Ricor had the same bike and our weights were similar or close (220 VS 210), I went with exactly what he was running.
I set them at 25 turns and needed that many turns to utilize all of the travel available. They work very well. Those shocks along with the Ricor Intiminators in the forks really handle the bumps for me. I find myself aiming for potholes and maintaining my speed over railroad tracks.
My ride and handling has greatly improved since going with Ricor's suspension. It also definitely helped to ditch the buckhorns and install risers and drag bars to get my hands in a more natural position.

You should probably talk to Brian. I think I've seen maybe two posts, my understanding is initially you feel like you are always riding down hill, otherwise works very well. I was hoping these shocks would help with that 60-70 mph bridge seam I hit while commuting, but they don't. Works a little better with near zero turns. They soak up the small bumps nicely, however.

If you don't have a jack see if you lift it by pulling it over on the stand some. I don't mean lift the entire bike but all you really need is to get to full extension. Here at the shop we just lift the bike at the rear fender and have someone else take the measurement. A good sag number to shoot for with your 11.5" shocks would be 3/4"-1".

Lets start by making sure your sag is set right. Do you know what you have it set at?
